Following the Beirut explosion and its disastrous effect, Unigaz’s longtime NGO partner “Zakat Fund” initiated a project to restore 200 damaged houses in three highly affected areas. With national responsibility, Unigaz donated to the “الانسان اخو الانسان” campaign that immediately started utilizing our contributions to make a difference. The progress is ongoing with more than 100 buildings currently being finalized in restoration.
Before initializing action, the three identified locations were assessed and studied to determine exactly how to utilize funds in the best way possible. After assessment, a structured plan was set to ensure progress in a timely manner. The project is still ongoing, however, families started returning back home safely.
In a short discussion with one of the beneficiaries of the project, Firas explained that this initiative is of great added value to the neighborhood and affected families. He also thanked the NGO for their efforts and all contributors that made this project possible, similar to Unigaz.
Unigaz and its partners work with transparency and accountability. Therefore, we will constantly communicate how our funds are being utilized to ensure the most significant impact on ground. We will continue this project until every family is back home safely and we will provide continuous updates on the houses’ situations and restorations.
